Billericay & District Angling Club Waters

Here are our waters available to members from 2005. Fuller details including directions, car parking arrangements, fishery by-laws and times of fishing, appear in the Club Handbook you will receive.
At the end of each location, we describe accessibility and terrain, to assist the less mobile members to decide whether the water would be suitable.

ASHELDHAM FISHERY     Key: T B K N

 

This is an old sandpit in a wooded setting with several bays and areas of rush and lilies. Summer fishing is mainly for a large head of carp up to 15 lbs, with very good eels for the night anglers. Winter days can produce

excellent catches of roach up to 1 lb. Rudd, perch and tench are also present.

Short flight of steps from car park down to a solid flat lakeside.

NewsFlash:

July 2000: As reported in the Angling Times two brothers caught 40 carp to 15lb and 25 eels to 2lb 8oz for a total weight of 450lb during a 24 hour session.  One of the brothers caught five carp in a 30 minute period.  The successful method was float fished worms just off the rod tip over carp pellets
