An update on Straits Mill 2 February 2012

Both lakes are now frozen bank to bank, apart from two small swims at the far end, these I expect to close up tonight and the lakes to be frozen for the next week I will post when the thaw sets in

The river is flowing well with a few nice perch being caught to 1.5lb the pike are always obliging or so the match anglers tell me

Closed season work parties 1st 15th & 29th of April but we are also having a regular Tuesday work party from 10,00 to 13,00 this started last week and will continue for as long as needed.

If nothing else it will keep you warm in this cold snap and it’s cheaper than a Gym.

IMPORTANT: CLOSURE OF GATES

Our landowners have been criticising the Club as several gates have been left open recently. It goes without saying that these are sensitive times where farmers do not want anyone on their property who has no right to be there.

Leaving gates open WILL lose Club waters, and anyone found leaving or entering fisheries without locking our gates WILL face serious disciplinary action from the Committee.

Senior Matches 2012/13

The first match of the new season (2012/13) for the senior match section only is at Slough House on Sunday 25/03/12 for Steve Randerson Memorial match. The Draw will be at 7.45 ,we will fish from 9.00 - 15.00 and 2 keep nets will be required.

Pit 8 at southminster will be closed from 26th September 2011 until further notice for lake maintenance, to include bank alterations and reed removal.
