Congratulations to all the winners and to all Juniors who took part in this years competions. As you know I have moved to Swindon but I will be at the AGM in March and it would be nice to see all Juniors at this function. My best wishes go to Steve Allgood who will be taking over from me once he has been voted in at the AGM

First of all can all juniors with trophies please bring them to the next match if you are not on this match please return to me by 25th nov. as this is when I will be moving. I am on holiday from 12th nov to 19th.
The 7th match was held at Slough Hse, this was switched from the Chelmer due to major fish kill on the river. Unfortunately there was a lot of rain the previous day and this put the skimmers/bream of the feed. Those that went for the silvers did catch but the carp boys only caught 1 and there were 3 blanks. The winner was Sam Yates with 17-8-0 which included a nice carp of 16-11-0 [see picture], this is the best carp caught by junior this year, 2nd James Hunt with 8-2-0 of roach/skimmer and a close 3rd James Treadway with 7-15-0 of roach. Full result
3 James Treadway 7-15-0 18
The last match is on 3rd Dec. at Shalford Lakes.
The 6th Match was held on Long Lake & 9 Juniors attended. The weather was on the cold side & as a result no Carp showed, so it was a case of scratching around for the Roach, Rudd, Perch & Gudgeon. The winner with 10-10-0 of small Rudd was James Hunt and we estimated that he caught approx. 300 fish which is an excellent result in 4 hours. In 2nd place was Sam Yates with 8-13-0 and his catch did include a couple of nice Perch & Gary Wilkinson was 3rd with 5-10-0 of small Rudd. Full result as follows:-
1 James Hunt 10-10-0 20pts

The river match on the Chelmer has been re-arranged to the canal behind Tesco at Maldon which is off Fullbridge. This is because of a major fish kill on the Chelmer at Paper Mills. There is a McDonalds next door to Tesco if anybody fancys a breakfast before the match.
For those of you that have trophys can you please bring them along to this match or the Christmas Match.
15 pairs fished this match at Armigers on 8th Oct. It was good to see some new members but in view of the good turnout this did mean that the pegging was very tight on many of the swims which did affect the weights. The run-away winners were Gary Wilkinson/Ken Spinks with 74-5-0 from midway along the bank opposite the car park, the follow up weights were very close with 4lb covering the next 5 places, 2nd Sam/Peter Yates 39-13-0 from corner peg on car park bank 3rd Sam Hill/ Ray Ankin with 38-7-0 from the shallow swim where stream enters lake.

12 Juniors fished Rectory Lakes for the Little Easton Shield. The bottom Lake which has recently been de-silted and restocked with Carp from the top lake fished much better than the top lake which is again suffering with algae. The run away winner from the bottom lake was Sam Yates who caught Carp in the margins on maggot for 89-5-0, his best Carp weighed 12-9-0. Second was Josh Cleasby who fished a pellet feeder for 27-12-0 and third was Alex Fuller with 18-13-0. The top weight on the top lake was 12-0-0 caught by Gary Wilkinson and James Hunt.

The 4th match was held at Armigers, top lake, and once again this venue turned up trumps. 11 fished and caught a total weight of 660lb an average of 60lb per junior. The winner was Neal Shore with a fine 119-14-0 he was drawn mid-way along the far bank amongst the trees and caught a few carp early on the pole but got them going on the top on dog biscuit and caught steadily all day. 2nd was Alfie Jones with 92-12-0 he fished paste then pellet on the pole and caught on his top 4 3rd was James Hunt with 90-12-0 he caught on the bagging waggler and pellet waggler and would have been 2nd if his dad had not lost a fish after unhooking it. It was good to see some new faces on this match and they all did well with Seth Hawthorne catching the largest carp at 9-12-0 Full Result

3rd match. 14 juniors fished pit 6 at Southminster -several big carp were lost but a few were landed. The winner was one of our newest members Jamie Sutton who caught a good carp of 13-10-0 (best carp so far) for a total weight of 13-15-0, 2nd was Luke Hockley with 8-15-0 which included a carp of 8-4-0 and in 3rd place was Sam Yates with 4-9-0. A close 4th was James Treadway with 3-15-0 which included some quality roach caught on caster, James unfortunately lost two carp on his light tackle.
The next match will be at Armigers on 13th Aug. let me know if you wish to fish
There was a very good turnout of 14 juniors for our 2nd match of the season which was held on the bottom lake at Dodds Farm. The lake was very well presented but again following rain the fishing was difficult. A few carp were lost and only one junior managed to land one and this was the winner James Hunt, the carp weighed 8-7-0 and with a few roach/rudd his winning weight was 10-15-0. He drew well on a corner peg with the wind blowing into that corner. 2nd was Sam Yates with roach/rudd for 5-7-0 and 3rd was young James Treadway with 4-2-0 again roach/rudd. Unfortunately 4 did not weigh in and these went for the carp which did not show.
